Melissa Duncan is a native of Hattiesburg MS. She was first introduced to pilates in 2013. After the first few classes she was hooked. She practiced pilates religiously to continue to become flexible and strong. Amazed at the transformation that pilates had on her body, she wanted to share this and pursue a career as a pilates instructor. After training with Balanced Body she began teaching in 2016. In 2019 she decided to make BEAMS Fitness her home as a Reformer Pilates Instructor while also managing a medical practice in Jackson.
RYT E-500 : Barre, Yoga, Pilates
Kate Nicodemus received her 500 hour RYT Yoga Certification from Karuna Yoga School at Shipton under Wychwood, in the United Kingdom in 2011. While living in the UK, Kate began teaching and has been teaching ever since. Kate holds her E-RYT 500 hour certification from Yoga Alliance. In 2016, Kate became a Yoga Warriors Instructor for Post Traumatic Stress and the Mind-Body Connection. Also in 2016, Kate completed Balance Body’s Reformer 1. In 2017, Kate entered comprehensive Pilates training and is currently in her 3rd level of continuing education. Being influenced by her Occupation Therapy education, Kate attended beginners and advanced Pilates for Neurological Conditions courses and practices these techniques in her classes. Kate is currently undergoing a mentorship with The Neuro Studio. In 2019, Kate became a qualified teacher for CoreAlign under Balanced Body. She lives in Madison with her three daughters and her partner, Kevin.
Skye Roden, MS, CPTI, RYP
Barre, Yoga, Pilates
Skye’s background has been in exercise, yoga, health, & sports for the 22+ years. “I intend to strive towards my goals in natural nutrition & healing by building on my current foundation in the areas of yoga, meditation, different styles of Group Fitness. My ultimate goal is to become a ND. I believe in mind, body, spirit connection; balance in one’s life (i.e., nutrition, sleep, exercise, relaxation/recreation).” Skye has a Masters in Exercise Physiology & certified as a personal trainer, yoga instructor & many areas of Group Fitness Exercise.
Emily Tally is a Mississippi State University alumnus. Attaining a degree in Kinesiology piqued her interest in body mechanics, movement, and strength. She recently discovered a love for Pilates and is trained by Balance Body in Reformer 1. Emily is a newlywed who makes her home in Brandon with her husband Luke.
RYT200 : Barre, Yoga, Pilates
Natalie Windham started her fitness journey as a young girl in gymnastics and dance. After auditioning and being accepted into Dance Unlimited’s Explosion Performance Company, at nine years old, she was traveling the country and competing nationally along side her team. She studied classical ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, and hip hop dance for ten years and eventually began teaching at her home studio. She has trained under choreographers Bryan Anthony & Barry Youngblood. In college, Natalie was an ACDFA competitor with Ole Miss, The Dance Company, and she was also a member of Hinge. After graduating Ole Miss with a BA in English, Natalie moved home and continued to teach. She taught dance at local gyms and studios to children, teens, and adults before earning her certification in Zumba. Over the past few years Natalie has spent her career continuing education, teaching, and collecting more certifications, including becoming a Personal Trainer, 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, Pilates Reformer 1 with Balanced Body, and a Barre Above Certified Instructor. Her current areas of focus are Dance/Dance Fitness, Personal Training, Yoga, Pilates Reformer, and Barre. Natalie owns BEAMS Fitness Studio and lives in Madison with her husband Alan, their daughter Sophie, and stepson Trey.
